I am a late comer to view your awesome photographs and descriptions of the Truckee River Legacy. I wish that I had discovered your postings years ago. My interest lies in the history of of the Truckee Trails as my husband’s third great-grandfather was a member of the Stephens-Townsend-Murphy train party of 1844. Isaac was a co-guide, along with Caleb Greenwood. Through your photographs and dialog, I am able to see where these brave pioneers traveled as they endured many challenges in order to find new beginnings for their families. Thank you kindly for sharing your knowledge and love for this area in Northern California.
